Just when you thought it was safe! We are working on a nice range of projects and moving to our (almost finished) new studio where we will welcome our talented and enthousiast new intern Jesse Hendriks. Looking forward to that! Besides this we were nominated for The Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany, which seemed cool until we noticed that a lot of our colleagues were nominated for this award as well. No problem, quality will always be recognised but… once you actually win an award, an amount of almost 3000 euros has to be paid. Thanks for the honour guys, but we decided to skip this one! Furthermore Artpower International Publishers from China will feature some of our designs in their newest book about illustration, nice. Expect some fresh work before the end of summer.

Restyling PUM Magazine. PUM sends senior experts with great specific expertise abroad. The idea behind PUM was quite simple: companies and institutions in developing countries can benefit from western organisational and management skills. The Netherlands has large numbers of (retired) experts who are willing to offer their services and skills free of charge. The idea was, and still is, a success.

The magazine’s target group is the senior experts, their customers and the local representatives in the 74 countries where PUM operates. PUM Magazine is distributed through all Dutch embassies across the world. Photography by Poike Stomps and Reinier Gerritsen.

Kaliber Film productions have screened at international film festivals such as Locarno, Toronto, Rotterdam, London, Warsaw, Seattle and Berlin among others.

Pingo is a Dutch company that provides advice and assistance in designing and implementing nature- and landscaping projects and the preparation of projects to provide funding. Pingo works for (local) government(s), environmental organizations and educational clients. Logo as a reference to a Pingo and a metaphor for creating something that didn’t exist previously, from the ground up literally. Colour (patches) based on Dutch landscape with typical 1/3 land vs 2/3 sky.

A pingo, also called a hydrolaccolith, is a mound of earth-covered ice found in the Arctic and subarctic that can reach up to 70 metres (230 ft) in height and up to 600 m (2,000 ft) in diameter. The term originated as the Inuvialuktun word for a small hill. (Wikipedia)

Lesser Gods don’t Exist. Poster for the Stichting Kinderhulp Bodhgaya (Children’s Foundation Bodhgaya) made from paper leftovers and scrap. Bodhgaya aims to help homeless Dalit (low caste or untouchables) children in Bihar, India and offers them education, medical care and a place to live. The heading in the back says: Mindere Goden bestaan niet / Lesser Gods don’t Exist.

Copy: Children’s Foundation Bodhgaya provides free housing for orphans and abandoned children; offering a home again, medical care, education and vocational training. Contribute to their future! Photography by Arjan Benning.

Short and witty texts are ‘hidden’ and woven into the identity to define the characteristics of De Kwartiermakers. Also designed a coding system for notification of the many different phases that are possible. *Process blue with black/blue, spot-varnish, embossed card and letterhead.

* Roekieloos® is a custom built word for De Kwartiermakers by I don’t buy it.

While we don’t think Dutch government considers her as one of the favorite products worth exporting this shit still seems to happen. Nobody knows if Tanja (her real name, Eileen is her fighter’s name) is even still alive, once you’re in chances of surviving the decision to leave FARC are small, actually there’s no chance at all. But as long as nobody knows the saga continues… In the meanwhile we made this nice little shirtie as a moving monument for those who get directed the wrong way.
